Frequently Asked Questions

A seed from Sumatra grown in Ecuador to create a well-balanced wrapper. Typically, Sumatra tobacco features subtle notes of cinnamon, earthiness, and nectar nuances.

First, find the shoulder of the cigar where the curved part of the cigar begins to straighten out—this is where you’ll make your cut. Place the head of the cigar in your cutter’s opening and close the blades just enough to hold the cigar in place. Cutting at the seam of the cap ensures the wrapper will not unravel. Once you are confident in the placement of your cut, quickly and confidently proceed.

Light your cigar like toasting a marshmallow—slowly rotating your cigar at an angle over your choice lighter, never letting the cigar and a hard flame touch. Be mindful of a lighter’s fuel as candles or any oil-fueled lighters that can compromise the cigar’s taste. Instead, use an extra-long match, a cigar-specific butane lighter, or a cedar spill to maintain the cigar’s essence as you light.

About the Blend

Released in 2010, our 107 Tobaccos of the World collection features a selection of our finest tobacco from around the globe, paying homage to 107 years of artisanal handcraftsmanship. The 107 Ecuador cigar is distinguished by its sun-grown Ecuadorian wrapper, resulting in an oily texture and rustic, natural red color. Complemented by a Dominican binder from the Cibao Valley—and finished with filler from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Peru—this cigar offers a smooth burn and gives way to a light grey, consistent ash.

Tasting Notes

“A mild beginning with a little bit of spice, the 107 Ecuador then evolves to a medium and full-bodied smoke. It’s very rich in distinct tobacco flavors, like wood and leather, as well as a deep aroma of cacao and spice with a sweet tip.”
